The following items have been discussed and Management and the Union have come to an agreement. The duration of this MOU is coterminous with the Master Agreement, and it is enforceable as per applicable statute.
1. Overtime Procedures
• The Overtime clipboard is to be locked up at all times when not in use.
• The Overtime sign up forms and clipboard are not to be handled by any staff members other than Lieutenants.
• Lieutenants only will be the only staff who will fill overtime and sign staff up on the form. No Acting Lieutenants are to fill overtime or sign staff up for overtime.
• All Lieutenants are to initial and highlight each box when filling overtime, as instructed on the bottom of the overtime sign up form.
• This form will be reviewed weekly by the Union and the Captain. In addition, it will be monitored daily by the Administrative Lieutenant and any errors will be forwarded to the Captain in writing daily.
2. Contacting Extended Sick Leave Staff
• Human Resources staff will contact staff on extended sick leave about their benefits.
3. Foul Weather Gear
• The following posts within Correctional Services are identified as Foul Weather Posts, and provisions for adequate uniforms will be issued:
Checkpoint & Relief Outside Patrol Rear Gate
A/B Corridor Compound Officer Tool Room
SHU/Annex Rec Officer
• The Rear Gate Officer will be provided an insulated pair of coveralls for cold weather which will be purchased through an authorized vendor and will be issued to the assigned staff member on a quarterly basis receipted by an AF-1. The employee will be responsible for the routine cleaning of the coveralls.
• Fifteen (15) sets of Rain Gear (Trousers and Jackets) will be available for issuance through an AF-1 and will be maintained in the Ready Room. Staff assigned to Mobile Patrol posts will be authorized to receive the rain gear combination on a quarterly basis issued through an AF-1.
• Fifteen (15) Cold Weather Parkas will be available in the Ready Room for issuance to staff assigned to the above listed posts. The Parkas will be issued on a quarterly basis and will be receipted by an AF-1. The Employee will be responsible for the routine cleaning of the Parkas.
4. Authorized Posts for Nickel Grey Uniforms
• The following posts within Correctional Services have been identified as being authorized to wear Nickel Grey Uniforms:
Checkpoint Tool Room Rear Gate
Property Officer Shakedown Officer UA Officer
SHU Rec Officer SHU Annex Rec Officer Security Officers
A/B Corridor Officer (Evening and Morning Watch Shift)
5. Funeral Trips
• The CEO will grant, workload permitting, an equal number of management and union officials to attend the funeral of law enforcement officials, staff, and family member’s of staff. In the event that management does not wish to attend the funeral, and workload permitting, the CEO may grant union officials to attend the funeral of law enforcement officials, staff, and family member’s of staff.
6. Change in Working Conditions
• The Union President will be notified whenever there is a change in working conditions.
7. Uniforms for Non-Uniformed Staff
• Management will allow non-uniformed staff to purchase and wear uniforms at their own expense.
8. Staff Injury
• When an employee has sustained a serious injury or an accident while on their assigned job, management will notify the Union regarding the available circumstances.
